Greetings,
My name is Marsha Belton. I am a native of Mississippi. I reside in McComb, MS. This is my first semester in the Instructional Technology Program. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Economics from Alcorn State University and a Master's of Library Information Science from University of Southern Mississippi.
My work experience includes office management for colleges, inter library loan manager, Serials Librarian and Catalog Librarian. I each of these fields I had to be well versed in computer systems.
I am also a veteran of the United States Air Force.
I am currently retired from the Mississippi Library System. I enjoy learning and believe knowledge is necessary for growth, With that in mind, I have chosen to embark on a new field of study, Instructional Technology.
My Library Science Degree was earned online. That makes the transition easier even though, some of the technology information is advanced. I have used several tools from prior online course such as, Microsoft Systems, emails, discussion boards, chats, video clips and social media platforms. These technological tools are amazing and allows for global networking.
I have not done any classroom teaching. My future teaching philosophy consists of interactive sessions with students, This is an important component in our technological age. Students will be allowed to learn, research and present using virtual tools.
